Stay home and honour those who served this Anzac Day

“Although we are unable to attend Anzac Day services in person this year, we can still honour those who have served our great country,” says Frankston City Mayor, Sandra Mayer.

Cr Mayer is encouraging residents to stand on their driveways, nature strips or balconies at 6am on Saturday (25 April).

“This is a way we can come together safely, to observe a minute’s silence and remember the sacrifice made by so many.

“In the midst of all that is happening, it’s important that we stand tall, maintain tradition and never forget those that fought for our freedom.”

If you usually attend the RSL Victoria service at the Shine of Remembrance on Anzac Day, you can watch it live on ABC television from 6am.

Also from 6am, you can visit the Frankston RSL Facebook page or website to watch a short video of the Frankston service for the centenary of the Gallipoli landings.

From 11am, the Frankston RSL will stream the 2019 Anzac Day service in Beauty Park via its Facebook page.
