Visitors to Dendy Park now have more parking options following the completion of car parks in Breen Drive and Dacey Street, Brighton East this week. These works form part of the Dendy Park Masterplan and will improve the layout and functionality of parking throughout the popular park. The new sealed car park in Breen Drive in the north of Dendy Park improves the layout and functionality of overflow parking for nearby sports clubs. Combined with the new car park in Dacey Street in the park’s south-west corner, the location, safety and accessibility of parking in Dendy Park has been greatly improved for all visitors.
Building both car parks involved using small parts of the park to create off-street car parking spaces, a disabled parking space, and a turning area. In Breen Drive, works were also designed to protect the root systems of high-value mature trees.
The Dendy Park Masterplan was developed through extensive community consultation in 2014. A summary of the works implemented to date can be found on our website.
