To ensure the public receives the most accurate and up-to-date information during the COVID-19 pandemic, Council is now notifying communities of advertised development applications online.

Amendments to The Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 have seen the removal of the requirement on council to publish a notice in local newspapers for certain types of proposed developments (e.g. boarding houses, shop top housing etc as listed in the Northern Beaches Community Consultation Plan). This follows changes to many local newspapers, including the Manly Daily, who have either closed or transitioned to online only delivery platforms, often with a paywall.

Council will continue to notify residents of nearby development proposals via letter. The correspondence includes instructions to view application documents and plans lodged on the website.

View all applications on Council’s Application Search.
