UNRESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD

Section 17 (7) Bush Fires Act 1954.

Notice is hereby given that the UNRESTRICTED BURNING PERIOD commences 1 May 2020.  

Please exercise all caution including:

Make sure you have sufficient resources to control your fire and prevent it from escaping. For townsite burning have a hose that can reach the full length around the fire. Make sure that it is turned on and checked for water flow. Hand tools including a steel rake and shovel at the ready. For rural burning have a mobile fire unit full of water that has been started and run to check for water flow. Ensure a 3m fire break surrounds the area to be burnt. If the burn is likely to be noticed by neighbours or passers-by contact DFES Communications on 9395 9209 to notify them of your address. Ensure all fire is fully extinguished before being left unattended.
