At midday today City of Darwin reopened swimming pools, outdoor fitness equipment and playgrounds across the municipality. The Jingili Skate Park and Council basketball and tennis courts will also re-open.   YMCA, who manage Parap, Nightcliff and Casuarina swimming pools on behalf of City of Darwin, have managed a smooth transition to re-opening with staffing and pool chlorine levels meeting national standards.   Removal of tape and the cleaning of playground and fitness equipment at City of Darwin’s 128 playgrounds and 8 fitness stations has commenced, with works being undertaken by Council staff supported by the Green Army.   Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said “The reopening of these facilities, in time for the long weekend, is great news for our community.”
