It can be confusing to work out how you can help, so we’ve compiled a list of community initiatives where you can get involved.
Whether it’s donating canned food, volunteering your time or helping out a neighbour, your good deed helps to make sure our community comes out stronger on the other side of this pandemic.
Donate foodCommunity Co-Op Northern Beaches is calling on residents to open their pantries to donate spare canned food and other non-perishable items. The Co-Op is working closely with local support organisations to distribute the food to our most vulnerable. You can also help them out by donating or volunteering as a driver. Raise awarenessOne Point Five Please is raising awareness and supporting physical distancing in a fun and relevant way with printed t-shirts with all profits going to the charity Headspace. Find out more on their website.
Connect with your neighbourA Hello Neighbour card has been dropped off in all letterboxes across the Northern Beaches. You can make a difference just by reaching out to say hello, doing a simple act of kindness or lending a helping hand. You can download a copy from our website.
Viral Kindness is supported by Northern Beaches based group #MyStreetSupport that encourages neighbours to connect with each other via social media and offer comfort, support and social interaction. Check out the MyStreetSupport Facebook page and the #ViralKindness Northern Beaches Facebook group.
One Another is a community website started by a Northern Beaches mum which encourages community connections through neighbourly kindness, connecting those that want to offer help to those who need it. Find out more on their website.
