Council News - 6 May 2020 PRESS RELEASE COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

The COVID-19 Coronavirus is continuing to have an impact on Communities and Council. There are a number of measures we can all take to eliminate or reduce the risk of contracting this potentially deadly virus such as practicing good hygiene, avoiding mass gatherings and social distancing.

The image below illustrates the benefits that can be achieved from practicing social distancing and how it can assist in reducing and eliminating this virus.

This is particularly pertinent now as the government has just relaxed the laws to allow 2 adults and their children to visit family members. Residents are encouraged to continue to practice social distancing measures to avoid contracting the virus in the future. Residents are also encouraged to be respectful and patient of each other particularly when purchasing supplies and to be mindful of our aged community.

We need to continue to adhere to the directions issued by the Federal and State Governments in order to ensure the wellbeing of our community during this global pandemic.
