Businesses: book now for online opportunities roadshow

As many businesses suffer lost trade under coronavirus restrictions, moving services online may provide a boost during the shutdown and beyond.

The State Government and Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are delivering a free online workshop to give small businesses practical actions and tips on how to make the most of the digital economy and reduce cybersecurity risks.

Corangamite Shire Economic Development and Tourism Co-ordinator Samantha Fox encouraged business operators across the Shire to sign up for the informative event.

“The workshop will help small businesses develop their online presence and set goals for doing business on the internet,” she said.

“It will give practical advice about how to operate in a digital economy, and how to use the digital tools and services that are available.

“Guidance will be provided on how to manage cybersecurity and safety to help small businesses invest time in developing a practical cybersecurity plan.”

Ms Fox said innovations made during the current crisis could lead to increased success when the pandemic ends and the economy recovers.

“Going digital can save businesses time, increase profits and provide flexibility to operate from anywhere.”

The workshop, originally scheduled for Camperdown but now online due to coronavirus restrictions, will be held from 2-4 pm on Thursday 28 May.
