Information, support and services for City of Swan seniors

Seniors in the City of Swan can now apply for help with essential services including grocery shopping, meals and transport to medical appointments.

The services are designed to help vulnerable community members while maintaining social distancing.

Seniors aged 65 and over, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders aged 50 and over are eligible.

City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey encouraged people to get in touch if they need help.

"Your health and safety is our top priority, and while we need to pause some of our usual community care programs, we’re still here to help throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

"Please contact us if you need help, even if it's not for essential services, and we can provide information or put you in touch with the right person for your needs."

If you’re unable to leave home, you can contact your local library for a home delivery service. Access the City’s virtual library anytime, which includes unlimited eResources, an online community Facebook group, and weekly interactive programming.

Keep fit and active:

You can't go to the gym at the moment, but the gym can come to you! Swan Active has a Seniors HiLow class available on YouTube - get your exercise gear on and give it a go at home  Other free videos available on Swan Active TV include story time for children, mindful meditation, energetic freestyle Konga and HIIT workouts.

Keep recycling

The Bullsbrook Recycling Centre is still open for drop offs (the Tip Shop is closed though) Bin collections are continuing as usual so please continue to put your bins out. Our Facebook bin challenge is open until May 19 - dress up for bin day and you could win a prize for best dressed!
