Blue Mountains City Council has launched a new Business Directory, to assist small businesses who have had to change the way they operate due to COVID-19.
The Business Directory is the next phase of Council’s Love Local campaign to support Blue Mountains businesses, who are struggling after recent bush fires and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Mark Greenhill said Council was committed to supporting businesses during this difficult period.
“Many businesses have had to change the way they operate during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mayor Greenhill said. “We encourage Blue Mountains businesses who continue to operate, to list their details in our new Business Directory so residents know what’s on offer.”
Once businesses have completed the Business Directory form, Council staff will verify details and then load this to the new online map, so residents can see at a glance what is on offer.
The Love Local campaign, launched in January, encouraged locals to spend an extra $20 per week so local businesses could recoup money lost after visitors stayed away during bush fires.
“With recent strict measures in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19, it can be hard to know how we can support our local businesses, while staying safe,” Mayor Greenhill said.
“But there are still many ways locals can support businesses.”
