Wollondilly Council is seeking feedback from the community on its draft Wilton Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which is on public exhibition from 12 May to 9 June 2020.

The draft Wilton Health and Wellbeing Strategy aims to ensure Wilton will be a thriving community where every person has the opportunity to live well.

The draft strategy includes four focus areas:

social infrastructure transport and connectivity green infrastructure housing

It also identifies three game-changers which are essential for making Wilton a great place for future residents:

on-time infrastructure connected and walkable places housing for life

The purpose of the strategy is to develop an evidence base to guide planning decisions and ensure that these decisions provide the best possible health outcomes for people living and working in Wilton.

Mayor Matthew Deeth noted the importance of planning strategically before developments happen, ensuring the best health and wellbeing outcomes for everyone.

“We want Wilton to be a thriving community where every person has the opportunity to live well.  We want a town that will be connected, attractive, inclusive and resilient,” he said.

“Council has worked hard to develop a draft strategy that addresses projected community needs, prioritises people's wellbeing, and helps facilitate healthy lifestyles.”

“We hope everyone can have the opportunity to view the draft strategy and share their thoughts.”

Council will be taking feedback on the draft strategy until 9 June 2020. To view the documents and make comments, head to Your Say.
