14 May 2020
National Volunteer Week, 18-24 May 2020, is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers. This year's theme for National Volunteer Week is 'Changing Communities, Changing Lives'.
While this year's celebrations will look very different to previous years due to COVID-19 health restrictions, the role of volunteers and their valuable contribution to our community is just as important.
Council’s 200 plus volunteers play a pivotal role in building community connections and supporting the delivery and quality of services provided to the Greater Dandenong community. Council acknowledges the great work done by our volunteers and by all volunteers in the municipality.
During National Volunteer Week volunteer ‘Thank You’ flags will be on display at all the gateways to City of Greater Dandenong.
Volunteering Victoria are hosting a Live Broadcast to celebrate National Volunteer Week on Monday 18 May from 1pm. You may like to join in and hear some interesting speakers who will explore what is happening in the world of volunteering. There will also be fun performances to enjoy. The theme of the broadcast is ‘Changing communities, changing lives; re-imaging volunteering in dynamic times’.
