Bringing library services to your home

Published on 14 May 2020

Mildura Rural City Council Libraries may be physically closed, but can still send items out to library members.

Council's library team has introduced a raft of innovative online options to ensure residents are still able to access library services during the pandemic, and the library's online catalogue and delivery service are shining examples.

Library members can place items on hold from the online library catalogue which are then boxed up and posted out to residents' homes. To access this service visit www.mildura.vic.gov.au/library

Alternatively, residents who are unable to access the online catalogue can organise for a personally tailored collection of library items to be delivered to their door or post office box.

To use this service residents can phone (03) 5018 8350 Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm or email [email protected]

Residents wishing to use these services must be full library members and have their PIN and library card number available.  Members who can't remember their PIN can contact the library for assistance.

Councillor for Arts and Culture Jason Modica encouraged library members to utilise the online catalogue and delivery service.

"Our library services team is continually adapting to ensure our community remains connected, including access to library materials, despite COVID-19 restrictions," Cr Modica said.

"The online library catalogue and delivery service are prime examples and can be easily accessed from the comfort and safety of residents' homes.
