Claremont's food drive for Foobank WA a great success

Residents of Claremont have shown their community spirit this week by donating more than 1,000 meals to Foodbank WA.
The Town of Claremont and Claremont Football Club received more than 786 kilograms worth of non-perishable items as part of their food drive for Foodbank WA.
Mayor Barker said the donated goods were delivered to Foodbank WA last Tuesday and equated to 1,416 meals for people in need.
“To be able to witness the generosity of our community during this challenging time is so humbling,” Mayor Barker said. “The panic buying through COVID-19 took a toll on all of us, so to now be able to donate over 1000 meals for those who are struggling the most, that really is a fantastic effort made by all.”
“Thank you to the Claremont Football Club for teaming up with us, and helping by providing their offices for a drop off point, and their muscles to load the goods!”
The food drive took place on Monday and Tuesday mornings with the first 50 donors each day receiving a free coffee from Hello Tiger Café as a thank you on behalf of the Town, for supporting the WA community.
