New leaders for Albury's youth

AlburyCity’s new Youth Council has elected its leadership team via a Zoom meeting.
Our 2020 Youth Mayor is Eli Davern, 16, of Xavier High School and the Deputy Youth Mayor is 14-year-old Jack Kelso of Albury High School.
They’ll lead the 14-member Youth Council on a range of projects in 2020, including the staging of a youth forum, supporting the Winter Solstice event and helping to clean up the city by driving graffiti removal programs.
Youth Mayor Eli Davern said the Youth Council would this year work even more closely with the AlburyCity Councillors to foster opportunities that will make a real difference for their peers.
“We have some really exciting ideas to improve services and facilities for young people and it’s great to be active in the decision-making process so that we can lead the way for our generation,” Youth Mayor Eli Davern said.
Deputy Jack Kelso said having young people involved in driving projects and programs was a great way of giving a voice to youth.
“We’re looking forward to working with the City Councillors to deliver improvements that are created and planned by other young people,” he said.
The 2020 Youth Council members are:
