From Wednesday 13 May 2020 Council began easing the COVID-19 restrictions in place on the Library and the Customer Service Desk.
As part of these services re-opening, coupled with our responsibilities for the health and safety of customers in controlling the spread of COVID-19, the library and customer service area will each be limited to 10 patrons at any one time (not including staff).
Additional protocols including signage, hand hygiene facilities, keeping interaction to a minimum through screens and employment of physical barriers and buffer zones are also be in place to guide the public during this period. Please note that the library and general customer service areas are classed as separate sections and will be operating accordingly with specific entry and exit points.
CEO Chris Cowley said that Council's goal was to reopen the library and customer service desk while still supporting and protecting residents and employees.
"The Library and Customer Service desk are open from Wednesday 13 May with modifications," Mr Cowley said. "Council will take a cautious approach to reopening services to ensure that the proper risk assessments, extensive cleaning and installing protective equipment, like plexiglass screens, are completed to ensure the safety of our residents and employees", Mr Cowley said.
It will continue to be business as usual for the Ranger services and compliance teams, field services from the depot, the rapid response team and waste collection and management.
