Prohibited Burning

Shire of Capel 20 May 2020

Following Bureau of Meteorology Advice, we are prohibiting the lighting any open-air fires from midnight Thursday 21 May to 12 noon Monday 25 May under Section 46 of the Bush Fires Act 1954 due to unseasonal fire conditions. Open-air fires must be extinguished by midnight Thursday 21 May.

During this time you cannot

Burn garden refuse, pasture, piles, rubbish or bushUse fire pits or campfiresUse cooking fires or wood and coal-fuelled barbeques

You can use indoor wood heaters, pizza ovens and chimineas.
