LEGO Club goes online
City of Wodonga 25 May 2020

Wodonga Library's popular LEGO Club has gone online with challenges set each week to test the creativity of the young and the young at heart.

Members of the Facebook group - Wodonga Library LEGO Club - have been challenged to design their own spaceship, create a maze and make their favourite animals out of LEGO.

One of the most popular challenges so far was to build a treehouse inspired by the Andy Griffiths Treehouse series of books.

Challenges are designed to make builders think outside the box, encourage storytelling through play and build on STEM skills.

Library Services Co-ordinator Meaghan Brown said members are excited to share their collections and their creations with others.

"It’s always interesting to see how different people’s interpretation of the challenges are and to get inspiration from everyone’s LEGO builds," she said.

The club has been running for several weeks now and the library hopes to continue in some form once pandemic restrictions are lifted and the library re-opens.

"We will continue to run the group as long as people want it," Meaghan said.

"LEGO Club members should let us know what they’d like to see next."

The library established the online LEGO Club to provide a new way for people to stay connected and share what they’re passionate about.
