“For the week ending 23 May, the following key works were completed by Council staff”, said Council’s Mayor, Cr. Ray Thompson.

“Within the urban Lithgow area, last week Council staff focused their efforts on asphalt and concrete improvements throughout the urban Lithgow area,” said Mayor Thompson. “Asphalt defect repairs were conducted at Silcock Street, Blackmans Creek Road, Glanmire Oval carpark, Coalbrook Street and Stephenson Street. Alongside this work, footpath renewals have been completed on Hassans Walls Road and staff have commenced new repair and renewal works at Coalbrook Street and Sandford Avenue. Third, Council’s mowing program is ongoing, with urban roads throughout Lithgow, Tarana, Lidsdale and Cullen Bullen being attended to.”

“In the rural areas of our LGA, Council staff have also worked towards the maintenance and repair of a number of sealed and unsealed road assets,” noted Mayor Thompson. “Asphalt patching has occurred on 18 separate roads throughout the urban Wallerawang area to ensure the integrity of these assets. Council has also installed new wheelstops at Pied Piper Preschool to replace aging infrastructure and ensure the safety of children and their parents. Road grading crews also continue their capital resheeting works at Palmers Oakey Road, Old Bindo Road and Genowlan Road, with Mt Horrible Road maintenance now complete.”
