In a busy Council Meeting this week, supporting our valued local businesses in these uncertain times was top of mind. Council resolved to sponsor Mosman Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Think Mosman First’ initiative promoting local business for which Council will also be providing practical assistance.
Council has also produced free colour COVID-19 information posters for businesses to help them manage the safe return alongside the much hoped-for and anticipated increase in patrons.
It was heartening to see readers returning to Barry O’Keefe Library with more than 200 people through the doors on its first opening day since late March. Hours of operation have changed as have conditions for entry, so please visit the library’s website for more details.
Next Tuesday I look forward to seeing Mosman Art Gallery reopen for exhibition viewings with further easing of restrictions for other Council services and facilities in the pipeline.
Importantly, all Councillors look forward to the yet to be determined re-opening of our Council meetings to our residents and the general public.
Many residents will be buoyed by the recent announcement that The Mosman Daily will resume print editions. The return date is yet to be advised, but it is most welcome news that our community will be kept informed by a local newspaper.
