We invite you to Have Your Say about Blue Mountains City Council’s Draft Creative Strategy 2020-2027.
This strategy is a shared reference that will help guide Blue Mountains City Council’s support of creative activity in the City, celebrate the region’s unique creative community and stimulate an environment of diverse Arts practice.
Mayor Mark Greenhill said: "Council acknowledges the current challenging economic environment faced by creatives and seeks to provide support through facilitating collaboration, reducing barriers to both creative production and presentation, and providing resources to enable our creative practitioners to connect with the community.”
The Draft Creative Strategy 2020-2027 was developed after extensive research was undertaken by Blue Mountains City Council arts and cultural staff.
The strategy sets out the themes, aims and actions identified by Council to support a growing, diverse and prosperous creative sector in the region and sits alongside a range of other Blue Mountains City Council strategies and plans.
Council Chief Executive Officer Dr Rosemary Dillon said: "Council is committed to supporting creativity, the arts and creative industries in the Blue Mountains. We recognise the intrinsic value of creative and cultural expression for our quality of life and economy, as well as the social inclusion that results from a supported and active creative community.
“The Draft Creative Strategy 2020-2027 outlines the ways in which Council will support and nurture creative practice and engagement in our region, contributing to the achievement of a more creative, sustainable and successful City of the Blue Mountains."
