Tenders invited for major upgrade to Millmerran Pool

Toowoomba Regional Council will open tenders on 6 June 2020 for a design and construct contract for the upgrade of Millmerran Swimming Pool.
TRC Chair of Environment and Community Services, Cr James O’Shea said the upgrade is a significant long term investment into a fantastic community facility for the Millmerran district.
“The pool is due for a substantial refurbishment with some of the facilities built in the 1960s,” Cr O’Shea said.
“The scope of the tender would include upgrading the pool to make it more accessible for all users.
“The project would include the renovation of the pool and toddler pool with an upgrade of associated pumps, filters and pipework and construction of new amenities and the open plan change rooms will be significantly improved.
“The installation of ramps will ensure that the facility is fully compliant with all abilities access.
“Importantly, Council will engage with the community to ensure that the significant murals on the current pool amenities, that form part of a historic trail, will be faithfully reproduced as part of the upgrade.
“Construction is expected to begin in late July with completion in early 2021 (weather permitting).”
Tenders close at 2.00 pm on 30 June 2020. Tenders can be lodged electronically via the VendorPanel website.
