Essential roadworks will commence next week on Mine Road as part of the Shire’s road safety improvements program.
This section of road was awarded $266,667 through the State Blackspot Program having being identified as high risk for traffic accidents.
The project will involve widening shoulders, reconstructing pavement and installation of guide posts and audible edge line-marking to reduce the likelihood of runoff crashes, especially around dusk and dawn and take into account approximately 3.5km of Mine Road from the Bingarn Road Intersection heading towards the Rio Tinto Tom Price Mine Entrance.
Works will commence from Wednesday 10 June and continue for six weeks.
Throughout this time, traffic management will be in place involving both manned and traffic light controlled work areas.
We will endeavour to keep disruption to a safe minimum, however we ask all road users to follow all instruction given and to be patient as the project progresses over the coming weeks.
Community safety and the safety of our road crew is paramount and we appreciate your assistance and understanding.
