From Monday, 8 June 2020 the City of Wanneroo will reopen a number of community facilities and programs in line with Phase 3 of the State Government’s COVID-19 Roadmap to Recovery.

Facilities and programs set to reopen include City-owned skate parks and BMX tracks, play grounds and outdoor gym equipment as well as the gym at Aquamotion, the Kingsway Indoor Stadium, Yanchep Two Rocks Access Centre and some community and youth centres.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said that the recent announcement of Western Australia moving into Phase 3 of the State Government’s COVID-19 Roadmap to Recovery is fantastic news.

“I want to thank everyone for continuing to adhere to the State Government’s guidelines which has helped us to successfully progress through the Roadmap.”

“We are all in this together and it is important that our patrons continue to follow physical distancing guidelines and practise good hygiene. People who feel unwell or who have been in recent contact with someone who is unwell are asked to remain at home,” said Mayor Tracey Roberts.

Staggered reopening of the Wanneroo Art Gallery and Museum, Girrawheen Hub, remaining community and youth centres and the City’s Community Transport Program will commence from 15 June 2020.

Phase 3 expands on a number of facilities and programs that previously reopened last month as part of Phase 2. For a full list of the services and facilities opening, including restrictions and guidelines, please visit wanneroo.wa.gov.au/covidrecovery.

The City asks residents and user groups for their patience and support, as it works to safely reopen facilities.

Please note some services and facilities will remain temporarily closed, including the Cockman and Buckingham heritage houses and will be reviewed at a later stage.
