CBCity delivers on promise for upgraded boat ramp

Locals of Picnic Point have reason to celebrate now that the City of Canterbury Bankstown has delivered on its promise to construct a new boat ramp and pontoon at the Carinya Road foreshore.
Mayor Asfour said a lot of planning went in to this project to make sure it was delivered for the local community.
"To budget and plan for jobs such as this one is no small task. This is especially the case when we needed to liaise constantly with the NSW Government to actually start the project," he said.
"I now look forward to seeing locals launching their boats from the upgraded boat ramp and spending time on the new pontoon.
Mayor Asfour said the Carinya Road project – which Council had committed to as part of its record $100 million budget for projects for 2019/20 – was one of two projects Council recently completed along the Georges River foreshore.
"It's great to see residents are also enjoying the two upgraded foot bridges along the Lambeth Reserve to Picnic Point walkway," Mayor Asfour said.
"The Georges River foreshore is a wonderful recreational asset, these upgrades will ensure our community can continue to relax and enjoy the benefits of living in our City."
