Cat Management First in the Lower West Tamar West Tamar Landcare Group and the Northern Area Advisory GroupResidents in the Lower West Tamar will be offered incentives to help address the issue of feral and stray cats after locals at Greens Beach, Kelso and Clarence Point raised concerns over the number of feral cats seen in the area and the stark decline in small native mammals like bandicoots.
The West Tamar Council’s Northern Area Advisory Group (NAAG) decided to join forces with West Tamar Landcare Group on the issue.
‘An opportunity to gain funds through the Commonwealth Government’s Community Environment Program came up, and with the support of Member for Bass Bridget Archer, we were successful in achieving funding for the project,’ said Vanessa Bleyer, Chair of NAAG.
