EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – NOMINATION TO THE LITHGOW FLOODPLAIN RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

Council at its meeting on the 25th May 2020 resolved to establish the Lithgow Floodplain Risk Management Committee. The committee will be made up of members from the community, various government departments, Council and Council staff and has an advisory role.

The purpose of the Committee will be to assist the development of a floodplain risk management study and plan for the Farmers Creek and Marrangaroo catchment areas to investigate how best to manage future flood risks.

The Committee will meet at least 6 times at critical project milestones over the course of the next 12 to 15 months.

Council is calling for expressions of interest/ nominations from the community for the following membership positions:

Should you wish to submit an application to join the Committee, Council will accept expressions of interest/nominations in writing. Applications to the Committee should state:

Your name and address A short paragraph outlining your interests for becoming a member of the Lithgow Floodplain Risk Management Committee A short paragraph outlining your experience and/or knowledge of historical flood events Any other relevant skills or qualification you would be able to bring to the Committee.

Expressions of interest/nominations will be received in writing, addressed to the General Manager, up until the close of business on the 19th June 2020.
