Stormwater drainage and road safety will be the focus of work to further improve Narooma’s Riverside Drive.
Eurobodalla Council will rebuild a 450 metre section of the road, from the southern end of the skate park toward the Princes Highway, from Monday 29 June.
Council’s infrastructure director Warren Sharpe said the northern end of the street was due for a new road surface, kerb and gutter, and stormwater improvements.
“The pavement on that section of Riverside Drive is patchy and prone to puddles after rain,” he said.
Mr Sharpe said an additional roundabout would also be built at the intersection with Burrawang Street, to “help reduce speeds and improve road safety in the area”.
“This section of work will tie in where the last upgrade along Riverside Drive finished off.”
Riverside Drive will be closed to through traffic between the Princes Highway and the Field Street roundabout during the work, which is expected to finish on Friday 14 August – weather permitting. Non-residents will need to use Field Street to move between Riverside Drive and the highway.
The skate park and shared pathway will remain open.
