The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Food Box initiative aims to establish emergency food banks to provide immediate relief for people in crisis.
This program support women and children affected by domestic violence, people from low socio-economic backgrounds and those affected by COVID-19.
The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) Food Box provides immediate relief for people in self-isolation for COVID-19, or those vulnerable during this time, by donating an emergency food bank for people in crisis.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in need of support, contact council’s Community Development Officer on 6430 5700 to see if you are eligible for the food box. Delivery will be made within 24hours of the request being lodged.
Thank you to Gavin Pearce MP, our Federal Member for Braddon, who initiated this project and decided to fund Food Boxes through RTT, which has, in turn, agreed to match his funding to provide even more assistance in our region.
