Wyndham City is creating a new park in Tarneit that the whole community can enjoy – and we want you to have your say.
Designs for Caraleena Drive Park in Tarneit include a playground, a social area with seating, walking paths and large open space with trees and planting that will cater for a variety of ages and activities.
Wyndham City Family Friendly City portfolio holder Cr Mia Shaw said the space, which is close to homes and schools, was the perfect location for a new community park.
“Local parks play a vital role in the life of a community – they provide space for exercising, playing, socialising with friends and family or relaxing and unwinding,” Cr Shaw said.
“This park will give residents a place to take their kids for some fun on the playground, a great spot to go for a walk and enjoy some greenery, and a big open space to kick a footy or have a picnic.”
“Once complete, Caraleena Drive Park will be a valuable addition to Tarneit’s open space network.”
Council is encouraging residents to shape the way Caraleena Drive Park will look by participating in a short survey on The Loop website, which is open until 10th July.
The survey gives residents the opportunity to view and comment on the designs for the park and detail how they would like to use the park, and what playground equipment they would like to see installed.
This feedback will be used to inform the final detailed design of Caraleena Drive Park, with construction expected to commence by mid-2021.
