Mosman Council has come on board the NSW Government’s free Park’nPay app which will soon enable drivers in foreshore parking areas, including The Spit, Balmoral, Clifton Gardens, Rosherville Reserve and also near Taronga Zoo, to pay for parking and top up online.
The app, which will go live in Mosman in mid-July, also helps drivers avoid parking fines by sending a notification when their meter is running low or their park is about to turn into a no stopping zone.
The online platform, which is being expanded to new areas, currently also includes the local council areas of Hunters Hill, Burwood, Liverpool and Central Coast, as well as the Rocks and parts of Darling Harbour and Pyrmont and some Transport for NSW Park&Ride car parks.
Parking inspectors can search for licence plate details using an app on their phone to see if a meter has been paid. Parking meters will continue to accept coins and credit cards.
Drivers simply create an account on the app with their licence plate and payment details. Users have the option of paying with Visa, AMEX, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For more information visit parknpay.nsw.gov.au.
The app will complement Mosman Council’s own Park Mosman app which uses parking sensor data to help drivers find available free parking in popular areas such as on-street parking and carparks around the main shopping precincts of Mosman and Spit Junction.
