Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) discount extension for the current water rates notice ends tomorrow (Tuesday, June 23).

TRC Deputy Mayor and Finance and Business Strategy Committee chair Cr Geoff McDonald said Council had extended the original discount period from May 12 as part of its initial $10.5 million Coronavirus pandemic relief package.

“The community is reminded that Council’s $125 rate concession covering urban and rural residential properties will be credited to the current water rates notice where applicable,” Cr McDonald said.

“Residents who paid their water rates before the rate concession was approved on April 29 will receive this same concession on their next general rate notice. The concession will be held as a credit on eligible accounts.

“Council also paused debt recovery for all outstanding rates and charges through to June 30, 2020.

“I remind residents that Council continues to offer payment arrangements.

“Please contact Council on 131 872 to discuss a range of payment plans.”
