We’ve recently experienced an increase in the volume of complaints regarding rubbish on building sites and their impact on surrounding properties.
We’re writing to all registered builders and site managers to remind you of your responsibility to keep the building and adjacent sites free of litter and waste material under the Shire of Capel Health Local Law 2000.
Under the local law, it is your responsibility to:
provide on each building site a receptacle or enclosure of a size and type which will properly contain all litter and waste materialsplace all litter and waste materials in such enclosuremaintain the street verge immediately adjacent to the site free of litter and rubbishon completion of the building, remove all rubbish, litter and waste materials from the site.We investigate all complaints. If you breach the Health Local Law 2000, you will receive a written reminder for your first offence. Secondary offences may result in a fine of up to $1000.
We thank you for your cooperation and appreciate your efforts in keeping sites free of litter and waste.
