Works are underway to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians at the busy intersection of Union Street and Hawthorn Road in Brighton East.
We’re extending, widening and repairing the footpath on the south-east corner of the intersection and connecting it to the existing bike path. This is not a shared path, so cyclists will need to dismount and walk across the footpath.
This upgrade is part of Council’s program to improve safety for pedestrians on key walking routes, and to create a safer, better connected cycling network in Bayside.
If you’re travelling through the area on weekdays until 10 July 2020, you may experience minor delays as works progress. Traffic management will be in place, as required.
