Byron Shire Council’s holiday parks, First Sun (Byron Bay) and Suffolk Beachfront, will re-open all of their accommodation facilities on 26 June, while staff at the Cavanbah Centre are on track to welcome sporting and other user groups back to indoor facilities by 1 July.
“We are really pleased to be fully opening accommodation in our holiday parks back up again, and inviting our sports, dance and other user groups back into the Cavanbah Centre over winter,” Council’s Director Infrastructure Services, Phil Holloway said.
“Of course, there are strict rules and procedures that apply around the re-opening of recreational facilities, including requirements for user groups to provide Council with approved COVID19 Safety Plans,” he said.
“We are adopting additional safety measures at our holiday parks and the Cavanbah Centre such as hand sanitising, cleaning, check-in declarations and a range of other measures.”
“Sporting groups and other users who regularly book the facilities at the Cavanbah Centre, must have in place their own COVID Safety plans to help us keep everyone safe. We know most groups are right on top of these requirements already, however please contact staff at the Cavanbah Centre if you need help getting safely back to your activities,” Mr Holloway said.
In line with NSW’s Public Health Orders, Council invited sports field user groups to resume non-contact training on council managed sports fields from 2 June, subject to a range of compliance requirements.
