Families will be able to experience the fun and excitement of Gannawarra Library Service’s school holiday program from the comfort of home.
Social distancing measures currently in place to stop the spread of Coronavirus have meant the library service will not be able to run its usual program of activities at its Cohuna, Kerang, Leitchville and Quambatook branches.
“Although we cannot gather together at this time, these two planned activities will ensure families can participate in our popular school holiday program,” Council’s Director of Community Wellbeing, Stacy Williams said.
As part of the non-contact school holiday program, a colouring competition will be held, with prizes awarded in two categories – Prep to Grade 2; and Grade 3 to Grade 6.
“Entry forms are available on the Events and Programs button at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/libraries, with entries to be dropped in to your nearest library branch or emailed to [email protected] by Friday, 10 July,” Mrs Williams said.
Families will also be able to complete a “take home” version of the “A-maise-ing” activity that was planned to occur these school holidays prior to the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Those wishing to take part in the program can contact their local library branch to organise to collect an ‘A-maise-ing’ activity bag.
“Families are also encouraged to send through photos of their creations to the Gannawarra Library Service’s Facebook page, located online at www.facebook.com/gannawarralibraryservice, or by emailing [email protected].”
