To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 24 June 2020 ordinary meeting.

Vibrant Communities Council endorsed the submission of applications to the Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF) for the Longwarry Early Learning Centre Expansion, Baxter Reserve Synthetic Pitch and Trafalgar Recreation Precinct Multi-use Pavilion.It was also noted that if either of the existing Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) grant applications for the Baxter Reserve Synthetic Pitch and Trafalgar Recreation Precinct Multi-use Pavilion are successful, that their respective applications will be withdrawn from the GSF application process. Council issued a Notice of Decision to Grant a Planning Permit – Planning Application PLA0164/19 (122 Brandy Creek Road, Warragul). Council refused a Planning Permit Application PLA0202/19 for the use and development of a dwelling and associated works at 650 McDougal Road, Neerim South.  Council deferred the adoption of the Property Policy 2020.  Thriving Economy Council Accepted the tender submitted by Mad Cat Construction Pty Ltd for Tender No 20190059 Design and Construction – Drouin Civic Park Redevelopment for the revised total sum of $1,479,110.35 (excluding GST). Council endorsed the Chief Executive Officer to join the Destination Gippsland board as a Director. Organisational Excellence Council endorsed the revised Council Plan 2017 - 2021 for adoption 'in principle' and referred the plan for public consultation under section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.  Council endorsed in principle the Long Term Financial Strategy that aligns to the proposed 2020/21 Budget. Council endorsed in principle the Annual Budget 2020/21 and Schedule of Fees and Charges, and noted the receipt of funding from the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program. Council endorsed in principle the Rating Strategy 2020/21.
