Council’s indoor pools, gyms and leisure centres will reopen to the public from Friday 26 June.
The Gisborne Aquatic Centre will open tomorrow, while fitness centres in Kyneton and Gisborne will open on Monday 29 June. The Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre will open on Wednesday 1 July while all leisure centres will open on 13 July.
Modified operating arrangements will be in place.
Limits on the number of people allowed in the venues will be in place in line with government regulations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A maximum of 20 people will be allowed to be on site at any one time, excluding staff. At pools, no more than three people will be allowed per lap lane.
Signage at the reopened facilities will urge community members to comply with physical distancing directions and to practise good hand hygiene.
Sportsgrounds, playgrounds, skate parks and libraries in the shire have already reopened to public access, along with Hanging Rock Reserve.
Council will look to reopen other community facilities in line with government advice and subject to appropriate restrictions to ensure the health and safety of the community.
Specific information regarding reopening dates of community halls, customer service centres and other Council facilities will be provided as reopening arrangements are confirmed.
