Consideration of applications for Quarter 4 of the 2019-20 financial year was delayed from April, with restrictions placed on face-to-face meetings of Council due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of applications were received in relation to community events that would usually take place during this time including Moree on a Plate Food and Wine Festival and the Moree Picnic Races. With both such events being cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions, applicants were invited to apply for financial assistance in the future.
Funding not allocated in the current financial year will be available for distribution in the forthcoming financial year, in addition to funds already set aside by Councillors for this purpose. The next round of applications for financial assistance will be open from Friday 11 August 2020 for two (2) quarters of funding.
