Even with social distancing, there’s plenty to see, taste and do in our beautiful backyard and Liverpool City Council wants the rest of the world to know.
With restrictions on regional travelled now lifted, Council has launched its first visitor guide - Love Liverpool – See Taste Do.
The guide features more than 40 pages of exciting ideas and top spots across the Liverpool region.
“Flipping through this guide is to be reminded of just how much there is to enjoy right across the capital of the Great South West, even as you strictly follow social distancing and hygiene requirements,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.
“There are perfect picnic spots, wonderful walks and so much room to run and ride or just relax in a beautiful bush environment.
“And our artistic offerings are of a very high standard, whether it’s an exhibition at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, soaking up the winter sun with a riverside stroll through Casula Parklands to enjoy the Liverpool Sculpture Walk or checking out the many murals around our city centre,” Mayor Waller said.
"Then there’s our extraordinary food culture – the chance to try flavours from around the world within a few blocks.
“With this visitor guide, even long-term locals might learn a thing or two.”
But Mayor Waller stressed the need to remain diligent and closely follow NSW Government requirements to stay COVID-safe while out and about.
“We are enjoying some small steps towards a new kind of normality but we are not free of the pandemic yet, so I would urge everyone to take care as they enjoy all our beautiful region has to offer,” Mayor Waller said.
Love Liverpool See Taste Do is available by request from Council’s Moore St Customer Service Counter, or from the welcome desk at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
