Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is asking people of all ages to illustrate the colours of Toowoomba's City Heart with a range of school holiday activities.

The 'Colour the City' and HOME Project activities both form part of community engagement for Toowoomba City Centre Masterplan ten year review - Your City Centre Beyond 2020.

TRC Planning and Development Chair, Cr Megan O'Hara Sullivan said our CBD's future is an important consideration for all ages.

"These school holiday activities will relieve the school holiday blues as young people paint a picture of the colours of our city heart," Cr O'Hara Sullivan said.

"The HOME project offers a series of short instructional videos where future artists can create treasure maps, portraits and zines.

"Local artists Alex Stalling, London Heir and Jeremy Staples are providing free online activities and at the same time celebrating the creativity of the young people.

"Through the Colour the City project, Council wants the community to get out the pencils, visit the website, and fill with colour one of the iconic scenes of local artist London Heir.

"Participants are encouraged to share their finished works to be displayed in our Toowoomba City Library.

“Art can be posted to PO Box 3021 Toowoomba 4350 or scanned and emailed to [email protected] or dropped in the box at the City Library or Customer Service Centre.

“All submissions received will go into the lucky draw for a chance to win a TRC prize pack.

“Don’t forget to fill the back of the sheet and share your bold vision for the future of Toowoomba City Centre”

“Your City Centre Beyond 2020' celebrates the progress made in implementing the Toowoomba City Centre Master Plan and seeks community feedback on priorities over the next ten years.

"Through the many activities in this engagement, we all get to imagine the city of our dreams. What's your vision for the future of our city?

"Have fun colouring and remember to join the conversation today."

Feedback will be accepted until 10 July 2020.
