Wyndham City is delighted to announce that Truganina resident Logan Tapuala is the July One Wyndham Young Person of the Month.
Logan, 16, was selected as this month’s winner due to his positive promotion of Samoan cultural traditions and his voluntary work with various community groups.
Wyndham Mayor Cr Josh Gilligan said Logan was an enterprising young man who was making a positive contribution to the Wyndham community.
“Logan is a proud Samoan Australian who has co-founded a business teaching Samoan fire knife dancing skills,” Cr Gilligan said.
“He has helped run sausage sizzle fundraisers for the William Scout Group, worked with the Pacific Climate Warriors to raise awareness of global warming and planted trees along James Cook Reserve with the Truganina Community Group.”
“Logan is a role-model for other young people within our community and I congratulate him for winning this award.”
The One Wyndham Young Person of Month Award celebrates the ingenuity and accomplishments of Wyndham residents aged 12 – 25.
Winners receive a $200 gift voucher of their choice for materials that will assist in their education or work, a certificate, and the opportunity to take part in a new podcast run by Wyndham City’s Youth Services.
