The first of our Live’n’Local live streamed events went off over the weekend without a hitch. Lithgow City Council, in collaboration with the National Bushfire Recovery Agency is presenting a season of Live’n’Local community live music events beginning early July.

The first Live’n’Local event was held in the beautiful Collitts Inn, where local musician Brooke Webb (18) from Tarana wowed the audience with her soulful sounds. During the 2019 bushfire season Brooke worked alongside her father and community with the Tarana Volunteer Bushfire Brigade. It’s been a big year so far, but it hasn’t slowed Brooke down as she pursues her music while giving back to the community of Tarana.

While most Live’n’Local events will be live-streamed, the first event was prerecorded, due to Wi-Fi connectivity issues, on Friday 3rd July from our very own historic Collits Inn, and then streamed to a world-wide audience via Facebook on Saturday 4th July at 7:00pm. In the very first live entertainment in the Lithgow area since pre-Covid. a tiny audience of locals were lucky enough to enjoy the great food, amazing hospitality and majestic views of Collitt’s Inn and were treated to the talents of local musicians, Karl Christop, Brooke Webb and local group Double Trouble with Snowy, Shags, and Dave James.   Worried you missed seeing your favourite local artists perform?  This event can still be viewed on Lithgow City Council’s Facebook Page; @LithgowCityCouncil or the Central West Entertainment & Events Facebook Page; @CentwestEntertainment.

“The arrival of Covid has had major impacts on our communities but let’s not forget the bushfires that devastated us only months before,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Ray Thompson.  “There are many still reeling in our community and struggling to recover from the disastrous fires on top of the recent droughts.”

While there is much work still to be done in rebuilding the lives of those effected by the bushfires, the Live’ n Local Project is designed to bring the community back together to celebrate what is great about our communities and begin the process of healing and rebuilding together.

The next Live’n’Local Event will be held at The Tin Shed this Saturday 11 July at 7pm featuring an awesome line up of great entertainers: Momentum (Lauren & Dave Webb), Phantoms Dream (Paige McNamara & Luke Young) and Izzy Cobcroft.  Book now, contact The Tin Shed on 6352 1740.
