Are you passionate about sports and active recreation in the Central Highlands?
Whether you love sport and active recreation, are part of a club or association, or industry expert, this is your chance to take on an active role in growing sport and recreation in the Central Highlands.
Councillor Anne Carpenter said council was looking for people from across the region with passion, willingness to engage and to take on an active role in the Central Highlands Regional Council Sport and Active Recreation Advisory Group.
‘The group has four positions open that should cumulate representation from communities across the region.’ she said.
‘As a member, you will find yourself in a room with voices from government, community and business to discuss and review policies and strategies, establish and facilitate partnership and community and user participation programs and support council project working groups.
‘It is an opportunity for anyone passionate about sport and recreation to get involved with like-minded people and experience working with local government.’
Cr Carpenter, who was formally a community member of council’s Game Plan advisory group and Chairperson of the Sport and Recreation Advisory Group, said members would also take on a pro-active role in the community.
‘As a group member, you will be promoting discussions and source feedback that informs the groups’ agenda items.’
The group will meet quarterly, and members will be expected to attend meetings in person or by telephone conference. Each meeting will follow an agenda that members may contribute to in form of discussion topics or reports.
