Illegal dumping is not only irresponsible, it can damage our local environment, native wildlife and even our own health.
That’s why it is great to see local residents taking pride in where they live and reporting illegal dumping.
Thanks to these timely reports from residents, we’ve been able to track down four illegal dumpers so far this year and apply significant fines for each incident. The maximum on the spot fine for illegal dumping is $8,000.
Whether you’re moving house, have an item you no longer want, or your neighbours have put something out in the street, there is no excuse for illegal dumping. Residents are encouraged to report any illegal dumping to Council so that we can find those responsible and have the material cleaned up quickly.
How can you report illegal dumping? If you see illegal dumping, please take a photo, video or simply record the vehicle registration, location, date and time. You can easily report it via our website or send an email to [email protected]
Any illegally dumped material should be reported, even if you didn’t see the person responsible, so we can arrange for its prompt removal.
