Isaac Regional Council receives $1.39 million in funding from COVID Works for Queensland program

The Isaac Regional Council has received $1.39 million to fund a diverse range of projects under the Queensland Government’s COVID Works for Queensland program.

The Isaac Regional Council has received $1.39 million to fund a diverse range of projects under the Queensland Government’s COVID Works for Queensland program.

Mayor Anne Baker said today this was a very welcome injection of funds into the Isaac Region from the Queensland Government.

“Funding of nine projects nominated by Council is an initiative of the Queensland Government, with the money coming 100 percent from the COVID Works for Queensland program,” Mayor Baker said.

“This funding will support jobs and provide residents with a range of important community assets.

“Sporting groups and communities have been talking to their local Councillors about these projects and will be very excited to see they are now able to go ahead.

Mayor Baker said projects would be funded in Clairview, Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount, Moranbah, Nebo, and St Larwence and elsewhere on the Isaac coast.

“The Queensland Government has stipulated that all the projects must be completed by 30 June 2021, so people will see work commencing relatively quickly,” she said.

The projects to be funded are: Nebo – Showgrounds Amenities Block $261,173 St Lawrence Cemetery – Shade and Memorial Wall  $74,894 Moranbah – AFL Field Lighting  $370,000 Clermont – Netball Toilets $315,000 Coastal Halls – External upgrades and painting $97,000 Dysart – Centenary Park – Replace Playground Equipment and Softfall $87,608 Clairview – Amenities Block Backup Generator $15,352 Dysart – Town Entrance Statement  $80,192 Middlemount – Tennis Court Lighting and Switchboard Upgrade   $88,781 Total Funding $1,390,000 ENDS
