The Church Street and St Andrews Street roundabout in Brighton will soon have zebra crossings to give pedestrians priority and clear right of way at this busy intersection.
These works have been expedited to run during Stage 3 restrictions and minimise distribution for local traders and the community visiting the precinct to shop for essential items.
Day and evening works will begin on Monday 3 August 2020 between the hours of 7am to 9pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. Works are expected to be completed within three weeks, weather permitting.
During the works, vehicle access through the Church and St Andrews Streets roundabout from the Church Street approach will be restricted with U-turns in place. Traffic management will also be positioned at the Church and Carpenter Streets roundabout to direct motorists to nearby off-street car parks, if there is increased traffic congestion along Church Street towards St Andrews Street.
