Port Keats Road
Saddle Rail Creek Bridge and road upgrades
The Australian Government and Northern Territory Government are upgrading 11.7 kilometres of Port Keats Road to improve flood immunity and road safety. The upgrades will include: Construction of a new 45 metre (3 x 15 metre spans) two-lane bridge over Saddle Rail Creek. Construction of 11.7 kilometres of two-lane sealed road including raised embankments, four flood ways, and five culvert crossings.
Works will commence late July-2020 and are expected to be completed by mid-2021. The project will reduce road closures during the wet season along Port Keats Road due to flooding of the Daly River floodplain, resulting in economic and safety benefits for road users and business.
Motorists are advised to adhere to all traffic management during the works and drive with care.
