Council recommits to Cairns Taipans

Council has reaffirmed its commitment to the Cairns Taipans basketball team by signing a further two-year sponsorship with the National Basketball League club.

Under the agreement endorsed by Council today, the Taipans will receive an annual sponsorship of $125,000 for the next two years.

The recommitment recognises the wide range of significant social and economic benefits to the Cairns community that the Taipans bring as the city’s only national sporting team.
