To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 22 July 2020 ordinary meeting.
Vibrant Communities Council inducted Jason Bargwanna into the Baw Baw Shire Sporting Walk of Fame. An induction ceremony will be held at a time when COVID-19 restrictions allow at least 20 people to attend an outdoor gathering. Thriving Economy Council endorsed the option to retain the existing Fleet Card OneCard supplied by Business Fuel Cards Pty Ltd and delegated Council's Chief Executive Officer to sign and authorise the contract and all relevant documentation. Safe and Sustainable Environments Council adopted the Municipal Animal Pound Site Masterplan report and referred the projects identified to the 2021/22 review of the Long Term Infrastructure Plan. Council noted the progress of actions within Council's Environmental Sustainability Strategy (2018-2022). Council also adopted the recommendations identified in the 2019/20 annual review and noted the release of the Sustainable Living Guide(PDF, 2MB) - a companion document to Council's Building Resilience Guide released in 2018. Organisational Excellence Council noted the changes from the existing property policy and adopted the Property Policy 2020. What's next?The next Council meeting will be from 5.30pm on Wednesday 5 August at the West Gippsland Arts Centre. The purpose of the meeting is to hear submissions under Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 relating to the draft 2020/21 Annual Budget and revised Council Plan.
